We have offered lessons in basic horsemanship for over 30 years with emphasis on safety. We appeal to the recreational rider with an emphasis on safe ground skills and basic dressage.
Lesson Rates:
Session: 8 to 10 lessons 1.5 hours $45.00 per lesson
Spring: March- May Fall: September- November 15th
Summer: June- July Winter: November 15th- March 15th
Individual Lesson (Pay-as-you-go): $50.00 per lesson
Introductory Lesson (1-hour, no ground time): $35.00 per lesson
Mini-Lesson (5-7 years old, 30 min. no ground time): $30.00 per lesson
Lessons Include:
1/2 hour of ground time and 1-hour of riding time. Instructors will teach the basics of horseback riding in a fun and relaxed atmosphere. Students learn skills that enable them to ride safely and confidently. They learn proper grooming techniques and horse care. Lesson groups consist of 4 to 6 riders; beginners each have their own student teacher. Session rates are based on advanced payment for the number of lesson days per session. Weather cancellations will be credited into next session, or a makeup lesson provided. Missed lessons, non-weather related, may be made up during the current session, but not carried over to the next session. Advanced notification is greatly appreciated.
Summer Activities:
Evening lessons (Monday thru Thursday): 6:00 - 7:30 PM and 7:30 - 9:00 PM
Morning lessons (Monday & Wednesday or Tuesday & Thursday, For 2 weeks ): 8: 30 - 9:30 AM

Summer Day Camps:
Summer day camp sessions will be held Mondays through Fridays during June. Each day's activities will run from 8:30 AM to 11:30 AM. Here are the dates for this year's sessions:
#1 June 7-11th #2 June 14-18th #3 June 21-25th
These day camps will provide more intensive instruction on grooming, tacking-up, and general care of the horses. Riding time will include trail experience in preparation for outside trail ride and the summer mountain camp in August. The cost for this activity is $330.00. Each class will have three or more instructors and will be limited to six riders. All the time is spent with the horses.
Please come appropriately dressed in shorts or light weight pants and sturdy but comfortable shoes (this means boots or lace-up tennis shoes with a heel, NO SANDALS). Also, bring sunglasses, a water bottle or two, snacks, sunblock and a hat. Helmets will be provided.
There will be an optional trail ride on the Saturday at the end of each session. The cost of this ride is $65 (in addition to the charge for the camp session). We will be gone from 8:30 AM to 2:30 PM. Please bring a lunch and drinks in a fanny pack. We will eat lunch on the trail.
Boarding:
Facilities include large group corrals, some with shelters. There are multiple round pens, 3 outdoor arenas, a cross-country course, trails as well as a large informal track to ride on. Prices start at $385 a month. Contact Sue Hall for more information.
